Lufthansa Global Business Services (LGBS) operates as an international organization with a worldwide delivery structure providing business services in the areas of Finance, HR, Revenue Accounting, Management Reporting and Procurement for entire Lufthansa Group.

Krakow Center is the main hub for the delivery organization including also central functions for the group companies covering both standard as well as customized processes for airline business. Besides operations, Krakow Center has also teams specialized in Process Management, Migration Support, Knowledge Management and Continuous Improvement.

Requirements:

• Min. 5 years of international, practical experience in IT project and IT demand management in major, multi-functional organizations
• General understanding of IT Service Management, IT Infrastructure, IT Architecture, IT application infrastructure
• Very good English skills

Responsibilities:

Based on his/her functional and technical expertise and background the IT Project Manager manages complex IT projects with high impact on business processes and business continuity. He/she assumes the responsibility for project delivery within agreed time and budget. The IT Project Manager is entrusted with projects in specific functional areas (e.g. HR IT, Finance IT, Procurement IT) or cross-functional areas (e.g. IT infrastructure). Based on his/her knowledge the IT Project Manager manages (international) projects from first conceptual ideas to production rollout. He/she coordinates all relevant parties and stakeholders inside and outside the organization.

Project management:

• Manage the project from first planning stage to go live
• Ensure the proper planning of IT projects (time, budget, resources) in alignment with business needs and other IT projects (GBS IT project portfolio)
• Manage IT projects on a daily basis inclusive taking countermeasures in case of deviation
• Manage risks regarding time, budget, resources and project scope proactively
• Take responsibility for project results as well as the optimized usage of project resources
• Ensure proper project documentation
• Reporting
• Ensure efficient cooperation and alignment with stakeholders in other company organizations and locations

Project preparation:

• Support requests for funds by creating management board approvals
• Collect and document business requirements in collaboration with business departments
• Ensure that all business requirements are covered by the IT solution
• Develop ideas to improve the IT environment (infrastructure and tools) in the centre in cooperation with business teams

Project execution:

• Manage internal and external project resources as well as external suppliers on a daily basis
• Monitor project success on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and report project progress to the department lead/ IT lead/ overall project lead (in dependency of project)
• Ensure that all relevant departments within the company are involved (e.g. workers council, data privacy department etc.)
• Take proactively actions in case of deviations to ensure project result
• Support implementation tasks on a hands-on level as needed, e.g. infrastructure setup, tool setup, requirements gathering, testing

Project termination:

• Take responsibility for go life and stabilization of IT tools
• Ensure proper documentation of IT tools
